Parkinson’s disease affects the brain causing increasing damaged over many years (a progressive neurological condition).
The three main symptoms of Parkinson’s disease are related to movement:
- Shaking of specific parts of the body – known as tremor
- Muscle stiffness making general tasks such as getting out of bed difficult, also known as rigidity
- Slow physical movements – known as bradykinesia
