Chronic fatigue syndrome, often shorterned to just CFS and may also be referred to as myalgic encephalopathy, causes constant fatigue or exhaustion that affects everyday life. Regardless of how much rest or sleep, the tiredness does not go away.
It is estimated that around 250,000 people in the UK have CFS. Although it is more common in women than men, anyone can get CFS. The most common age in which it develops is in between the early 20s to mid-40s. Children may also be affected, usually between the ages of 13 and 15.
